History

ILC Interactive Learning Corporation is a privately owned Company that is directed, owned and managed by a team of individuals who have many years of experience with Educational Technology and Computer Based Learning. Our philosophy is to provide educational learning opportunities that Involve the Learner, Inspire Achievement and Impact Results.

The predecessor Companies to ILC - Strider Computer Centres (now Simply Computing), Software Plus Inc. and Ingenuity Works Inc. have all been owned and operated at one time by the current President of ILC Mr. Gary Gumley.

Our current focus is on the delivery of Interactive Learning Experiences that facilitate the opportunity for students at all levels of their education to improve their learning in a collaborative and informative Internet based environment.

While our main focus is on the delivery of Live Tutoring, we provide access to other products and services that enhance learning. Products such as our Adventures in English series of ESL content along with our Practice Exams for Languages as well as other vibrant educational content such as our Workshops and Streaming Video products.

Our Live Communicator engine was created to provide an effective Internet based communication tool with Voice and Video that would enable "Live" Internet tutoring.

The original mandate of ILC was to provide consumers English as a Second Language (ESL) learning material in print and electronic form. When the Voice and Video Technology was discovered and adapted to the delivery of ESL, the Company was able to build a platform for learning that extends well beyond the original concept scope. ILC is now responsible for operating the delivery engine for Tutor World www.tutorworld.ca, (a site that provides opportunities for customized delivery of tutoring from institutions such as Libraries, School Districts, Universities and Colleges. BC Tutor www.bctutor.ca (a site that provides province wide tutoring for Grades 10 to 12 in British Columbia through the Virtual School Society and Learn Now BC, as well as MyTutor.ca www.mytutor.ca an innovative tutoring web site that connects teachers with learners around the world through our Live Tutoring engine.
